1. this directory contains data in ASCII format for 6 tree ring networks collated from data formerly at Mann's UVA FTP site

2. preisendorfer.info.dat
	it contains a information file containing retained PCs for each MBH98 calculation step with a different network
	- the directory for each step is not always the same as the step. The directory actually used is shown
 	- why there is a difference has never been explained
	- it also contains the number of PCs that would be retained under Rule N 

3. preis_emulation.tab
	R-object with 20 items that can be read as follows
	load("http://www.climateaudit.org/data/mbh98/preis_emulation.tab")
	- this has 20 items in the list ordered in the same order as preisendorfer.info.dat
	- each item is a table containing eigenvalues
	   column 1- from the network itself
	   column 2- from the simulations

4. preisendorfer.simulation.txt
	functions and script to do Preisendorfer Rule N calculations on tree ring network
	in style illustrated at realclimate p=9.
